GREG’s 2nd Regional Mini Conference
This year’s conference was held on Friday 14th August 2026, at the Mid City Motel, Warrnambool.
GREG, in collaboration with the Moyne Shire Council, hosted the 2nd regional mini conference providing continuous professional development for regionally based engineers and other professionals.
The following topics were presented:
Daniel Selman Coordinator Engineering Design - Warrnambool City Council

Mark Kamphuis Senior Civil Engineer - Warrnambool City Council
- Discussed, Accelerated Load Testing (ALT) of Approved Equivalent Pavement Materials Improving the structural performance of locally available unbound pavement materials. Their presentation slides can be found here.

Lucas Pardo Principal Engineer - Pardo Engineering
Presented, Regional Geology of Western Victoria Soil types and relevant engineering properties.
Construction implications of highly expansive clays.
Then on Saturday morning, Lucas Pardo conducted a Technical Tour, in the Tower Hill Wildlife Park (Yatt Mirng crater), talking about “a peaceful park with a violent history”.
